Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence thrashed the Carolina coast with devastating flooding and hurricane-force winds. One of the hardest hit areas so far is New Bern, North Carolina, where at one point about 150 people waited to be rescued after more than 10 feet of powerful storm surge flooded the small city. New Bern is counting up the damage from Hurricane Florence. It’s at $100 million so far. Florence wreaked millions in residential and commercial damage the city said on Twitter. It’s among the first announcements of damage estimates from a North Carolina community.

While there are crews worked in New Bern and worked on Sky Sail Lofts during the month of October, weeks after the storm first hit the shoreline. The before and after pictures here are not an indication of the devastation but a sigh of relief that our crews were safe and working as fast as they could.
